Expect – To look forward to, anticipate, watch or look for, wait for, count upon, hope for; believe, trust.”

I remember when our beautiful Savannah Winter had her very first day of school. Our big girl was now old enough to go to kindergarten and she couldn't be more excited if she tried! I remember the conversation we had like it was yesterday about all that her day would hold. Telling her the fun she was going to have and new friends that she would make. And being all of five, her eyes lit up and I could tell she was instantly excited.

In the car ride on the way to school I took a brief glance into the review mirror just long enough to catch her gazing out the window smiling from ear to ear, just looking out in silence. For those brief moments I couldn't help but wonder what was going on in her little heart.

All I know is that it did my heart good to know that she was expectant and excited for great things to happen, even in her little world. And of course that's exactly what happened. She had the best time ever! And has loved school ever since.

Undoubtedly, when our Father in Heaven sees us leaning in with excitement and expectation. It not only blesses His heart, but I believe it is a crucial ingredient for answered prayer. What a sad thing it is to lose our sense of wonder and expectation about the future and all its possibilities.

So this week, what are you believing God for? Whatever it may look like for you, let me encourage you to be present and expectant.

Which I know all to well is a lot easier said than done.

For me, this week looks like looking after my three (full of energy) daughters , it means preparing everything for our new baby boy to make his debut into the world and getting some work done along the way. A lot to organize, and I'm sure moments of chaos here and there, but I have made a decision to not allow myself to get to familiar or comfortable, but rather prepare my heart to be changed and challenged even in the ordinary, even in the mundane. Sometimes its in those ordinary moments where God does the most with our hearts.

Have an amazing week, enjoy the little things and never forget to expect the best!

All my love,
Luc xxx
